Triple J Has Announced the Set Times of Its Virtual Music Festival and It's the Stuff 'Dreams' Are Made of
Lorde, Lana Del Rey, Radiohead, Tame Impala, Beastie Boys, Silverchair, Sia, Powderfinger, PJ Harvey and more all at the one Australian music festival . . . sounds far too good to be true, right? Well, think again, as Triple J is set to make 'dreams' (almost) a reality this Saturday June 22 with its inaugural Dream Festival.
The virtual festival is a curation of some of our all time favourite acts' live sets from over the years, all in the one place for our listening pleasure. From 12pm local time, listeners can swipe between three 'stages' through the Triple J app to enjoy performances from both international and Aussie artists. The line up will not only treat us to sets from some world class global acts, but also serves as roll call for some of the best homegrown talent currently going 'round, including Flume, Tash Sultana, Tame Impala, Sia, Amy Shark and Gang of Youths — just to name a few!
The best part is, there's no need to fork out the expensive price of a festival ticket, and you don't even have to leave your lounge rooms to feel a part of the festivities.
Highlights from the line up include performances from bands that have since sadly split or gone on indefinite hiatus, like Powderfinger and Silverchair, plus recordings of sets from such iconic festivals as Glastonbury. It's safe to say we can't think of many better ways to spend a Saturday than rocking out at a festival — minus the mud and the crowds. Winning!
