Chet Faker Wins the 2015 Hottest 100 — See the Top 10 Here!
This year's Triple J Hottest 100 countdown has had a lot more mainstream attention than usual, all thanks to one Taylor Swift. As fans of the pop singer led a campaign to get her recognised by the competition, diehard Triple J fans led their own protest against the singer and her "too-mainstream" music. The people spoke and Swift was out for eight good reasons, clearing the way for Aussie electronica musician Chet Faker to dominate the top 10 and take the top spot with his critically-acclaimed 2014 track "Talk Is Cheap". What could be more Australian than an Aussie winning the Hottest 100 on Australia Day?
Aussies have a habit of winning — Victorian Vance Joy won last year with his song "Riptide," and this year he's embarking on a tour with aforementioned Taylor Swift. Looks like this might be Chet's biggest year yet!
