A wedding dress is likely the most expensive piece of clothing you'll ever buy (if you choose to get married, that is), and so it should be. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, so it's natural to want to look and feel like the very best version of yourself. But how much is 'normal' to spend on a wedding dress? The cost varies for every bride and her budget, but if you're embarking on a quest for your dream dress, going in with an idea of how much other women are dropping on white gowns might be helpful.
Wedded Wonderland — Australia's largest website dedicated to weddings — has done the research. A survey of 500 women revealed the average amount brides will spend on a wedding dress in 2019 is a cool $5,260 — a 30.5 percent increase since 2017, when brides were dropping $4,000. And that's not the only increase . . . Weddings in general have increased by 9.5 percent from $48,624 in 2017, to $53,168 this year.
