There's nothing worse than feeling like those never-ending bills are getting in the way of you living your best life. Take phone bills, for example. They most definitely add up and, when you think about it, all that combined money could be spent on new experiences.
Ahead, we list out mini-splurges that would roughly equate to an average monthly phone bill, so you can put things into perspective. After all, we should always be looking for ways to save money in order to treat ourselves on a daily basis.

With the stresses of life, it can be hard to set aside even one hour a month for pure self-indulgence — but we should. Massages are beneficial for both your body and mind. Why not take your spare pennies and start a monthly massage routine?
It's always wise to invest in anything that relates to self-care. Whether it be splurging a little extra on lunch or buying face masks, you deserve to use your money on goodies and experiences that will give you a little extra boost of happiness throughout the day.
3. Creative time
We're all creative beings whether we like to admit it or not and creative experiences, be it pottery or painting classes, can truly benefit your mental health and self-expression. Check out local art classes, ring up some of your friends and try to organise a group class. Who knows? Wine could be an added bonus.

4. Gym membership
This may be one that's a bit harder to sell, and may even be met with a few eye rolls, but the gym is so important for you, both physically and mentally. It's the tough love approach to self-care and, I'm calling it, 2019 is officially the year of tough love. I was always a pessimist when it came to physical exercise improving my mental health until I bit my pride a couple months ago and started going daily. My mind is now the clearest it's ever been.
5. Dinner dates
You know when your friends ask you out for a cute dinner and wine, but you have to shamefully decline because you just can't afford to splurge that little bit extra? With a few extra dollars saved, we'll be able to have those dinner dates. Cheers to that.
6. Gold Class
There's still nothing better than going to the cinemas, particularly when it's Gold Class. I recently went with my Dad for his birthday and completely forgot how therapeutic it was. Pass the popcorn, please.
